You’ve Noticed Things Are Changing.

You’re worried about:

  • Whether they’re safe living alone
  • Them falling when no one is around
  • Their health declining without you noticing
  • The thought of them going into a care home

We understand. And you don’t have to make that decision yet.

What Is Elderly Care?

Elderly care is professional support that helps older people remain safe, comfortable, and independent at home for as long as possible.

It can be:

  • A few visits each week to help with washing, dressing, and meals
  • Daily support for consistent help with personal care and medication
  • Companionship visits to reduce loneliness and provide social interaction
  • Overnight care for reassurance and support through the night
  • Live-in care for round-the-clock support as needs increase
  • Respite care to give family carers regular breaks from caring responsibilities

Our carers provide respectful, compassionate support with personal care, meals, medication, companionship, mobility support, and household tasks. Your parent stays in the comfort of their own home. You get peace of mind knowing they’re safe and well cared for.

Why Families Need Elderly Care

Watching a parent struggle with daily tasks is heartbreaking. You want them to stay at home, but you can’t be there all the time, and the worry is constant.

Elderly care helps you:

  • Keep your parent safe at home without forcing them into a care home
  • Reduce anxiety about falls, missed medication, or isolation
  • Maintain your own life, work, and family commitments
  • Ensure your parent has regular companionship and social contact
  • Spot health concerns early before they become serious
  • Preserve your relationship as a son or daughter, not just a carer

Getting professional support for your parent isn’t giving up on them. It’s giving them the best chance to stay independent at home with dignity and safety.

How to Arrange Our Elderly Care in Chippenham and Central Wiltshire

We know asking for help can feel difficult. Here’s how to get started:
Step 1: A Friendly Chat (around 5-10 minutes)

When you call, you will speak to a member of our local care team here in Chippenham. This is simply a conversation to understand your situation and see whether we might be able to help.

We will gently talk through things like:

  • What support your parent needs
  • What their typical day looks like and their routines
  • Any health needs or preferences that matter
  • What level of support would help most

There are no right or wrong answers. You do not need to have everything figured out. We are just here to listen and understand.

Step 2: Free Home Assessment

When you feel ready, we can arrange a free home assessment at a time that works for you and your parent. This is relaxed and informal, usually lasting around an hour.

During the assessment:

  • We listen more than we talk
  • We get to know your parent’s routines, preferences, and any concerns
  • We assess what support is needed and how we can help
  • You can ask us anything about our carers, costs, or how elderly care actually works

There is no pressure to decide on the spot. This visit is about helping you decide whether we are the right fit for your family.

Step 3: Your Personalised Care Plan

After the assessment, we will put together a personalised care plan based on everything we have discussed. This will include:

  • Which tasks our carers will help with
  • The best times for visits
  • Which carer we would match your parent with, based on personality, interests, and needs

You will receive this in writing so you can take your time, talk it through with family, and come back to us with any questions.

Step 4: Meet Your Carer and Get Started

Once you are happy to go ahead, we will:

  • Introduce you and your loved one to your carer before care begins so there are no strangers turning up unannounced
  • Agree on a start date that works for you
  • Give you real-time updates on every visit so you can relax knowing everything is going well

From day one, you will have a direct point of contact at Blue Arch Homecare if anything needs adjusting or if you simply want to talk something through.

FAQs

How much does elderly care cost?

We charge £32 per hour for elderly care. The total cost depends on how many hours you need and the level of care required. After our free assessment, we’ll give you a clear written quote with no hidden fees.

Will my parent accept help from someone else?

This is a common worry. We introduce the carer beforehand when possible and can start with small tasks like companionship or help with meals to build trust. Many older people are initially reluctant but feel much better once they’ve met their carer.

What if my parent has dementia?

Yes. Many of our carers have specialist training in dementia care and understand how to support people who may be confused, anxious, or resistant to help.

What if my parent’s needs change?

We can adjust the care plan as needs change. Whether they need more hours, different tasks, or a higher level of support, we’ll adapt with you.

How will I know what’s happening during visits?

We will set you up on our secure digital platform so you receive real-time updates on every visit when carers arrive, what tasks were completed, and how your parent is doing. You will also have a direct point of contact if you want to call and check in.
